Robert Lewandowski has formally earned the La Liga Player of the Month Award for October after receiving three consecutive nominations.
In six league games, the Pole scored five goals and dished out two assists, bringing his season total in La Liga to 13 goals and four assists.
This comes after a tumultuous spell for Barcelona this season in which they suffered defeats to Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid and narrowly managed to earn victories over Mallorca, Valencia, and Celta Vigo.
With 17 awards, Barcelona currently leads Atletico Madrid by two Player of the Month accolades, who have 15.
Ten of those victories were attributed to Lionel Messi, and Luis Suarez himself won the championship five times. Both Neymar and (now) Lewandowski have received the honor once.
