Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, has given an explanation for why his group chose Paul Winstanley to serve as Director of Global Talent and Transfers.
Boehly claimed that they selected Winstanley because the Englishman embraced Chelsea’s guiding principles and would blend in well with the team.
Winstanley left Brighton to join Chelsea after eight years in the Premier League.
The club’s website quoted Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali as saying, “Paul is going to be a tremendous addition to Chelsea,” in response to Winstanley’s hiring.
He is well-respected and an important senior addition as we continue to assemble a world-class athletic group with a wealth of talent, aspirations, and dedication that will collaborate with us to advance Chelsea.
