Kyle Walker, a defender for England, has stated categorically that he will not “stretch out a red carpet” for Kylian Mbappe of France.
On Saturday, the quarterfinal of the 2022 World Cup features both nations.
Walker, who will likely start for the Three Lions, will face off against Mbappe, the competition’s leading scorer.
The two have faced off against one another three times when Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have faced off.
Walker has two victories and one defeat.
The match is between England and France, not Mbappe and England.
“We respect that he is a good player who is currently in good form. But I’m not going to give him the white-glove treatment and order him to score.
“I am playing for my nation in a World Cup quarterfinal, so it really is life or death. He won’t get in the way of my efforts to lead my nation to a World Cup victory, Walker declared.
