Daniel Riolo, a French football commentator, has criticized Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar, calling him a professional failure when compared to teammate Kylian Mbappe.
Riolo also emphasized how Neymar and Mbappe differ from one another in terms of their level of on-field professionalism.
Following his involvement in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar last December, where he guided France to the final, Mbappe was praised by many for making an early return to PSG.
Riolo was impressed by the France international, who even participated in PSG’s most recent two games against Lens and Strasbourg.
Riolo remarked of Mbappe in the RMC episode of After Foot: “He has 10 days off, so he does whatever he wants, right? He doesn’t leave between two matches or without the club’s permission; instead, he takes a ten-day break after the World Cup.
These are the ten days of vacation time he was required to take after the World Cup, but he didn’t utilize them all because he had to return right away to play two crucial resuming games.
PSG gave Mbappe a rest following their 3-1 loss to Lens in a Ligue 1 match on January 1.
Following that, the 24-year-old took a flight to New York to watch the Brooklyn Nets play in the NBA. Riolo has exploited Mbapp’s actions as a way to criticize Neymar.
“Whether he [Mbappe] departs at night in a private jet or in a hot air balloon to be in New York the next day to witness a basketball game, he does what he wants, he won’t be back for 10 days,” he continued.
“Don’t talk to me about Neymar, who has shown everything there is to see in professional catastrophism, compared to Mbappe, who is an example,” Neymar said.
