A californian pregnant lady, 25, was killed in a drive-by shooting while her route to a birthday party, according to her relatives.
When the fatal accident occurred last Thursday, December 29 at the junction of Pioneer and Artesia Boulevards in the Los Angeles suburb of Artesia, Marissa Perez was a passenger in the front seat of her father’s automobile, according to news station ABC7.
According to her mother, she was on her way to get a cake for her aunt’s birthday party when another car drew up next to them and the driver started shooting.
According to Sandra Tolentino, who spoke to ABC7, her daughter was shot numerous times, including once in the head, and was expecting to give birth in June.
Perez was brought to a hospital where doctors declared her dead. Her unborn child did not make it. She was 25. In another five months, she would become a mother. “She was ecstatic,” Tolentino exclaimed. “I want my daughter to receive justice. Justice must be served for my grandchild.
Isaac Tolentino, Perez’s brother, told the KTLA radio station that his sister and her fiancé were excited to have a child.
She was so ecstatic, he added, that she changed completely. My sister has never appeared to glow in such a way.
Marissa’s mother stated that although there was no instant information on a potential motivation, authorities with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department do not think the drive-by shooting that claimed Perez’s life was a random act.
“It wasn’t arbitrary. We are aware of that. It wasn’t arbitrary, “said Tolentino.
The family of the pregnant woman who was killed together with her unborn child made a plea to the public for any information.
