Kelsey Turner, a former Playboy model, was given a 10-to-25-year prison term on Tuesday, January 10, for her part in the 2019 murder of Dr. Thomas Burchard, her 71-year-old lover.
After Burchard’s body was discovered in a trunk of an abandoned automobile on March 7, 2019, the police detained Turner and her then-boyfriend Logan Kennison, 29.
The septuagenarian and Turner allegedly dated for two years during which time she received an estimated $300,000 from him and he reportedly covered her $3,200 monthly rent for her opulent Las Vegas residence.
The payments abruptly halted in November 2019, and Burchard traveled to Las Vegas from California to inform Turner that he was unable to pay her bills. This caused a physical altercation.
Burchard was killed at their house by Turner and Kennison, who later admitted to hiding his body in the trunk of Turner’s Mercedes after beating him to death. They allegedly used a bat to beat him to death.
Diana Nicole Pena, their 34-year-old roommate, admitted to being an accessory to murder in July 2019 after saying that she assisted in cleaning the crime scene before leaving Las Vegas with Turner and Kennison.
In July, Kennison admitted to second-degree murder and conspiracy and was given a jail term of 18 to 45 years.
A damaged door, blood and cleaning products, footprints and further cleaning supplies in the garage, and white and blue towels that matched those found with Burchard’s body are among the evidence that places the three suspects at the site of the crime.
Turner’s car also had a baseball bat bearing Pena and Kennison’s prints.
