On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed sorrow at the passing of Dr. Nuhu Sanusi, the first-class emir of Dutse in Jigawa State.
In a statement of condolence sent from Abuja, Garba Shehu, Buhari’s media assistant, referred to the dead as one of Northern Nigeria’s modernizing leaders.
He expressed the Dutse Emirate’s, the administration, and the people of Jigawa State’s sorrow over the tragic loss, along with those of Nigeria.
Sanuni “was vital to the accomplishments Dutse had accomplished in the last three decades under his watch,” Buhari stated in a statement following Sanuni’s departure.
He said, “He was a down-to-earth guy who was loved by all.”
Emir Sanusi presided over Sokoto State University as chancellor before his passing.
