Victor Osimhen of the Super Eagles is not for sale, according to Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis, despite rumors that Manchester United will make a summer offer for the striker.
Osimhen has been crucial to Napoli’s effort to win the league for the first time since 1990. Luciano Spalletti’s team presently leads Inter Milan by 13 points.
With 16 goals in 17 league games this season, the Nigerian forward is in first place on the Serie A scoring statistics.
The 24-year-old became Man United’s top transfer target this summer as a result of his performances, and the Red Devils are apparently contemplating a 107 million euro bid.
The Napoli talisman will not be sold, De Laurentiis has recently told the German publication Bild.
De Laurentiis declared, “I can assure you that Osimhen is not for sale.” Although our players are in high demand, I don’t need to sell any of them. We owe no one anything.
Osimhen cost 62.4 million euros when he transferred from Lille to Napoli in 2020, and he has 45 goals in 83 games. His current contract expires in 2025, and it is believed that no negotiations have yet taken place to extend it.
