Following their performances in Wednesday night’s 2-2 Premier League tie with Leeds United, two Manchester United stars have come under fire from Michael Owen.
Marcus Rashford and Raphael Varane came under fire from Owen for their “criminal” defense of a free kick during the match.
At the Theatre of Dreams, United had to come from two goals down to get a draw thanks to goals from Rashford and Jadon Sancho in the second half.
Brenden Aaronson’s free kick off the post for Leeds in the second half came close to making it 3-0.
Goalkeeper David De Gea was incensed after seeing the ball get through Rashford and Varane, who broke the wall.
Owen told Premier League Productions, “I couldn’t believe it, I couldn’t believe this wall.”
Varane and Rashford just split and observe how the ball went low and straight through the middle, never crossing the wall at all.
“That’s criminal, something’s terrible if that goes in and they both turn away. I mean, serious, serious words will be spoken if that goes in.
“You can’t just do that,”
