Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s transfer to LAFC is apparently being discussed by Chelsea and the MLS team.
This comes after Graham Potter left him off of his team for the Champions League quarterfinals last week.
Since then, a number of teams have expressed interest in Aubameyang, including LAFC of the MLS, and fruitful negotiations have taken place between the two clubs.
Aubameyang joined Chelsea from Barcelona last summer and initially signed a two-year contract; he now has 18 months left on that term.
Aubameyang would be unable to represent a third club that competes in a division with a schedule that overlaps with most of the European leagues according to FIFA regulations.
However, LAFC would be free to sign Aubameyang as the new MLS season won’t begin for another month. Asian clubs are also considering their options.
In an effort to make a deal for Aubameyang work, LAFC is rumored to be contemplating a number of options, including a loan. That would mean that Aubameyang might still consider a summer transfer to one of the European teams.
