As the presidential election results start to come in, Bola Tinubu, the Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, has advised Lagos citizens to refrain from any acts of violence.
Obi received 582,664 votes, compared to Tinubu’s 541,850.
Also, there were allegations of Igbo citizens being attacked on Monday in several areas of Lagos State.
However, Tinubu urged that the election’s results not be a cause of agitation in a statement issued hours after Obi was declared the victor.
“The fact that the APC narrowly lost Lagos State to another party should not be the reason for violence. As a democrat, you win some, you lose some. We must allow the process to continue unhindered across the country while we maintain peace and decorum,” he added
