In Lagos, his home state and stronghold, the Labour Party’s Mr. Peter Obi defeated the APC’s Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the most influential politician in the commercial powerhouse of Nigeria.
Obi won the majority of the votes, even though Tinubu had more local government districts.
The 20 local administrations have all released their results. Obi triumphed in nine local government areas, while Tinubu won in 11.
Obi received 582,664 votes, while Tinubu received 541,850 after the results were announced.
