Maria claimed that her father was her best friend and that they had a close relationship in an interview with well-known on-air personality Chude on Wednesday.
The former Big Brother Naija contestant claimed that because her father did everything for her, his death was like a turning point in her life.
”My dad died in 2013, he was like my best friend; I was very close to him. He literally dragged me and said, ‘you aren’t going anywhere’.
“So, when he passed away, I was like, ‘what am I going to do with life?’ I didn’t accept it until months after he was buried, I was in denial. I fell into depression,” she said.
Maria said, “When I finally got out of it, I told myself that my dad would want me to be a great woman, so I had to do something.”
