Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, stated he would be happy if he won a Grammy.
He insisted, though, that he didn’t release his most recent album, “Timeless,” with the goal of garnering accolades.
This was said by Davido in a recent Brut interview.
The singer of “Dami Duro” claimed to be a digital artist, but he had to record a live album for his collaboration with The Cavemen and Grammy-winning Beninese great Angélique Kidjo for the song “Na Money.”
I was glad that I was out of my space and could perform that song [“Na Money,” he remarked. I use a digital recorder to create music because I am a digital artist. However, because The Cavemen record live, we had to record “Na Money” live.
“If I win a Grammy, I’ll be happy, but I didn’t make this album [‘Timeless’] with the intention of winning anything,” he stated.
“I made this album going into it, you know, happy, natural, you get what I’m saying!”
