Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, asserted that Inter Milan is a “bigger club” than them.
In an interview with BT Sport before Saturday’s Champions League final, Guardiola made this statement.
While Inter seeks to end a 12-year trophy drought after winning it in 2012 under Jose Mourinho, City is attempting to capture the trophy for the first time.
“I saw Inter’s games and we tried to do our game. Everything finishes with a game and the team who performs best over 95 minutes will win.
“Inter Milan is bigger than us, in terms of history in this competition, and we are favourites to win the game, but what’s important is that, at 10pm Istanbul time, we do the best performance possible and that can make the difference,” Guardiola said.
