The party said that it regretted the former minister of trade and industry’s announcement regarding his decision to withdraw from the race.
The party’s leadership announced in a statement dated September 6, 2023, that it had received Alan’s letter and that all of the issues he cited as justification for his decision to withdraw from the race were being addressed.
“We note with regret, Hon. Kyerematen’s decision to withdraw from the upcoming Presidential Primaries.
“It is worthy of note that both the Elections Committee and the Disciplinary Committee have initiated comprehensive investigations into all reported incidents of violations and infractions that are alleged to have occurred at various voting centers during the super delegates election which was held on Saturday, August 26, 2023,” the statement read.
The conclusions of these panels will be made public whenever they are ready, according to the NPP statement.
It further stated that all those proven to be at fault would be held accountable.
In the Special Delegates’ Conference, Kyerematen finished third, and it was anticipated that he would be one of the five candidates running in the presidential primary on November 4.
He did, however, withdraw from the race after alleging collusion, intimidation of his supporters, and manipulation of the election in favor of one candidate.
