Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, asserted that people wanted Eriling Haaland, the striker, to fail.
Guardiola made fun of the fact that he is “concerned” about Haaland’s play while saying as much. On Wednesday, Man City defeated Young Boys 3-1 in the UEFA Champions League.
Even though Haaland ended his five-game goal drought in the Champions League, the former Borussia Dortmund player continued to exhibit signs of nervousness and unease in front of goal against Young Boys, missing a number of excellent scoring opportunities.
Some people think that despite Haaland’s 11 goals in 14 games this season, his performances for Guardiola’s team are falling short of his record-breaking 52 goals scored the previous season.
Following Man City’s victory over Young Boys, Guardiola was asked by TNT Sports if Haaland “worries” about not taking more opportunities.
People want him to fall short. I apologize, but this guy is a dangerous menace who will score goals for the rest of his life.
