Grammy-winning musician Burna Boy, also known as Damini Ogulu, a Nigerian, has disclosed that he recently declined a $5 million offer to play in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
He said that he declined the offer since smoking marijuana in Dubai would be prohibited.
Smoking is forbidden by Emirati legislation in Dubai’s parks, beaches, and other public recreation places.
I turn down 5m to perform in Dubai because I can’t go where they won’t allow me to smoke igbo,” Burna Boy rapped in a video that went viral on the social media platform X during a rehearsal session with his band, Outsiders.
