The Grammy nomination of David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, the Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, has him ecstatic.
The “OBO” crooner received three nominations overall for the 66th Grammy Awards.
In the Best Global Music Album category, his fourth studio album “Timeless” received a nomination; in the Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Performance categories, his albums “Unavailable” and “Feel” received nominations.
The happy singer celebrated his accomplishment by writing, via his X handle, “3 nominations at the Grammys! It is not denial to delay!
Davido is a contestant for the Best Global Music Performance award, along with Burna Boy, Arooj Aftab, Silvana Estrada, Béla Fleck, Falu, and Gaurav Shah.
In addition, he would face off against Bokante, Susana Baca, Burna Boy, and Shakti for the Best Global Music Album title.
His competitors in the Best African Music Performance category were Asake, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, and Tyla from South Africa.
