Rio Ferdinand claims that Lionel Messi unfollowed Alejandro Garnacho on Instagram because of the Manchester United winger’s fondness for Cristiano Ronaldo.
The adolescent striker, a former Red Devils defender, allegedly told him that his teammate Messi, an Argentina international, is no longer a fan of his on social media. The reason for this is that Garnacho, who briefly played with Ronaldo at Old Trafford, has never hidden the fact that he is a huge fan of CR7.
He declares, “I’m a Ronaldo man,” without hesitation. Who is the greatest of all time? Ronaldo. Even when he is a member of the Argentina team.
Back in April 2022, supporters saw that Messi had unfollowed Garnacho. The young player had shared a photo of Ronaldo at the time along with a statement referring to the Portuguese legend as the greatest of all time. Messi has not responded to Garnacho’s past comments about him calling him a “idol,” even though the two are now teammates in the senior Argentina team.
When asked if Wayne Rooney’s infamous bicycle kick from a 2011 derby match against City was better, Ferdinand responded, “Garnacho.” One was taken from his boot, the other from a shin pad. Wazza, I apologize.
My family and I went berserk in the front room of my house. It was absurd. Even my young child, whose tooth had recently fallen out, was attempting to perform overhead kicks in the living room, just like millions of other young children at the time.
That is a superior goal to Rooney’s. He was running at an angle, a little bit further away from the goal.
Despite head coach Erik ten Hag’s admission that overhead kicks are bad for the young player’s back, Garnacho is expected to play a key role for United when they play Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday.
