Burna Boy, a.k.a. Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, has broken the record for the highest-grossing African artist tour.
He accomplished this when his “I Told Them” tour brought in $15.5 million from 15 performances, with the earnings from six additional shows still pending.
Touring Data, an American tour data organization, revealed this information on X on Thursday through a series of posts.
In addition, Burna Boy broke his own record in Boston’s TD Garden on March 7, 2024, by earning $1.725 million at Capital One Arena in Washington, the highest-grossing arena show by an African musician in the United States.
His March 12 performance at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood set a record for the most expensive concert by an African musician in history with an average ticket price of $172.76.
With $5.7 million from 6 gigs, his Canadian tour became the highest-grossing African musician ever.
