Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, is expected to make the unexpected decision to succeed Tite as Brazil’s head coach.
Tite’s tenure as Selecao coach came to an end when Brazil was defeated by Croatia in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
After Croatia defeated his squad in a penalty shootout a few days ago, Tite recently played his final match in head of the Brazil national team.
Brazil wants Ancelotti to lead the “Selecao” in the upcoming years, according to UOL Esporte.
The Brazilian Confederation previously got in touch with Ancelotti in October.
The Italian tabled a potential dialogue till Tite’s official resignation following the 2022 World Cup.
The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach is clear that his top priorities are to finish the season with Real Madrid and, if he can achieve a deal with the confederation, to take over the Brazilian national team after the summer.
When his current Real Madrid contract expires in June 2024, Ancelotti will have to enter into negotiations with the La Liga winners if he wishes to leave the club the following summer.
If Ancelotti, Real Madrid, and Brazil reach an agreement, the Selecao will need to hire a temporary head coach for the games they have left before the Italian is fired.
