Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has exhorted Nigerians to save their country by voting in 2023.
Obi declared 2023 to be a crucial year that will define the nation’s future course in his New Year’s message.
The candidate for the Labour Party’s presidential nomination urged people to free Nigeria “from the frigid clutches of corruption, insecurity, and unproductivity.”
According to Obi, the country could not keep moving backward in the years to come.
The former governor of Anambra forewarned that the situation may completely collapse.
People must “unite against the continuous abuse of our democracy and economy,” he warned, in 2023.
He reiterated his commitment to security, unity, and shifting Nigeria from consumption to production, saying, “The power is in our hands to take back our nation, in 2023, and make it work.”
The LP candidate also pledged to follow through on the agreement he made with voters.
The message continued, “Nigerians may hold me accountable by my words of commitment.”
Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, has endorsed the politician-businessman.
