Several months after being fired by Aston Villa, Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is in line for a new position.
According to reports, the Englishman is in advanced negotiations to head Poland’s national squad.
The Englishman has been jobless ever since Aston Villa fired him in October 2022.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Polish Football Association has begun discussions with the former England captain about taking over for Czeslaw Michniewicz.
The former Liverpool captain is reportedly considering the Polish offer right now.
Michniewicz quit his role on New Year’s Day after leading the Biao-czerwoni to the round of sixteen of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where they lost to France.
In addition, Gerrard is an unexpected candidate to succeed Michniewicz.
Gerrard was hired by Aston Villa after a successful stint with Scottish Premier League team Rangers, where he had a trying time.
As the leader of the Villains, he recorded 13 victories, 8 ties, and 19 defeats.
