The Ghanaian businessman stated that he has been a longtime fan of the English team and that he wants to take control of it.
Huge football admirer McKorley is also well-known for supporting Accra Great Olympics of the Ghana Premier League.
He declared his intention to acquire Nottingham Forest on Monday during the Joy Thought Leadership seminar held at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
Apart from the Great Olympics, he said, “Nottingham Forest is the only team I support in the world.”
“I have been a Nottingham Forest supporter since the club was even in the third division. Why? Considering that I want to buy that team. Considering all the construction, I wish to purchase Nottingham Forest.
Should his takeover be successful, McKorley further stated that he will ensure that more Ghanaian athletes play for the English team.
“McDan buys Nottingham Forest, and every time you see players [in the team] from the English league, about 60% of them are from Ghana,” he continued.
Remember how politician Chairman Wontumi, better known as Bernard Antwi Boasiako, expressed interest in purchasing Chelsea last year?
Roman Abramovich announced that he was willing to sell the club after pressure mounted on him in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) shocked the world when he revealed his intention to buy the Premier League club.
Even though Chairman Wontumi claimed he could have financed the club due to the millions he earns from his mining business, Todd Boehly and his consortium ultimately acquired Chelsea.
